✅Certified Organic Apricot Kernels Raw - Premium Grade

Premium or first grade apricot kernels are hand-sorted to the highest of standards. Inferior grades are removed by hand, leaving only the best of each batch. They must be free of blemished and substandard seed, shell and other contaminants, such as moth eggs, moth webbing and mould. These contaminants can be found in the other "premium" kernel available, which, of course, means they are not truly premium or first grade. We guarantee none of these undesirables will be found among our kernels.

Properly dried and sorted seed should be intact with a slightly wrinkled appearance. Apricot kernels that have been dried too quickly or removed from their shell too early are often smooth-looking with a powdery-looking skin. They break very easily and their protective skin flakes away. This is a sign of a poorly dried apricot kernel. Apricot kernels should be dried naturally, within the protection of their shells. Kernels dried too quickly are depleted of their nutrients, and those cracked prematurely are subject to oxidation, which ultimately results in early rancidity and a shortened lifespan.

Please Note: Product freshness plays a significant role, as does variety, origin and processing methods. Our apricot kernels are a bitter variety and cracked fresh weekly. As a result, our product contains the highest concentration. This is significant and should be taken into consideration. FSANZ and the DOH advise against the consumption of raw apricot kernels from any source; however, if you're choosing to use them in this way, please bear in mind that not all apricot kernels are equal.

Some sellers are marketing bitter apricot kernels as a snack food. We strongly advise against treating them as such. Though the other apricot kernels contain less amygdalin, treating them as a snack is likely to result in unpleasant reactions.

Note:

This product is labelled as, 'Raw Apricot Kernels, for the preparation of body scrubs and oils'. Please be aware that the consumption of raw apricot kernels may result in adverse reactions. Raw apricot kernels contain amygdalin, which releases naturally occurring hydrocyanic acid. This is toxic in excess.

It is the opinion of Food Standards Australia/NZ and the Department of Health that raw apricot kernels should not be consumed.
